Spring 2020 for Women 40+: Exaggerated Collars

Now that I resigned myself to the fact that I am homebound with the outbreak of the Coronavirus, I’m back to my blog talking about spring 2020.  For me it’s important to do as many normal activities as possible.  Before I decided to write this, I asked myself; Will I really have a normal spring/summer 2020? Or will I still…

A Look Ahead: Spring 2020 for Women 40+

This post is part of a series while we look at spring trends 2020.  At this time of the year I usually look at what the trends are for the upcoming season.  So that means what’s new for 2020?  What I realize is when I was a kid, there were clothes for kids & clothes for adults.  Now everything is…

Red-Carpet Geek:Oscars 2020

It’s your Red-Carpet Geek again!  I want to talk about this year’s 92nd Academy Awards aka Oscars that recognize the best in film.  I don’t know why but the red carpet is usually better at the Oscars than the prior awards in 2020.  The celebrities are usually dressed extravagantly, and wear more jewels. It was easy for me to develop…

The Red Carpet Geek on the Scene: Grammys 2020

The Red Carpet Geek on the scene at the Grammys 2020.  It’s the night that honors musical celebrities from a variety of genres.  From what I’ve read viewership for the show was down from 2019.  I didn’t watch the entire show because I was caught up with Power. (It’s ending in a week or 2) but I did see the…

Red Carpet Geek Strikes Again!

Did you get a chance to watch it? The Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) was televised on January 19, 2020.  This kicks off the awards season with the Emmy’s and the Oscars following.  SAG awards honors actors/actresses only with 13 awards that are given to actors/actresses from television and film.  I didn’t see the actual ceremony but I caught most…

Red Carpet Geek: Golden Globes 2020

The 77th annual awards ceremony that recognizes excellence in film and American television. I really didn’t watch much of the ceremony because I had other TV shows that I wanted to watch. But I caught the major clips and I found them entertaining. The red carpet was on the blah side for me. I saw dresses that I liked but…

NYE-My Pick

Sorry readers, I said New Year’s Eve to reveal my look, but the time slipped away from me. I decided to shop in my closet and when I did, I found what you see below. An animal print sweater was a good look and the leggings with sock boots were comfortable. I topped it off with a faux fur jacket…

What are you wearing on NYE?

Now that I’m way over 40, I don’t go out often on New Years Eve. I guess after a while the thrill of going out passes. But this year my husband & I were invited to a house party. Not sure I’m going but when I looked in my closet to see what was available to wear, plus I also…

Did you watch the American Music Awards?? I watched….

a little of the show but I did look at the red carpet fashions. As usual the outfits were up and down. I usually expect anything when it is a fan-based award. I saw 7 celebrities wear outfits that I really liked. I’m realizing that Regina King is one of my favorites. I can only remember one time I didn’t…

Color, Color, Color this Fall!

I love color and I am happy that color has come this fall season! There are 4 main color trends I have seen repeatedly. Pistachio, orange, purple neon, hot pink has appeared on most designer runways. I intend to include all of them to my current wardrobe.
