1 Designer Worth Recognition: Black History Month 2019

Many aren’t aware of Tracy Reese, a fashion designer with a successful ready-to- wear line. She’s born and raised in Detroit and as a child she made clothes. She always says “I get my eye for fashion from my mother,” She is a graduate of Parsons School of design in NYC. Her work experience includes: Martine Sitbon and Perry Ellis among other successful designers. In 1990 she was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America and joined its committee in 2007. In 1996 she launched her own ready-to-wear line. In 2000, 2006 and 2009 she expanded her brand including a furnishings line. She has designed clothing for Michelle Obama, Beyonce and Sarah Jessica Parker to name a few. She has always been celebrated for her feminine and retro-influenced styles. Below are designs from her recent clothing line.
