A Look Ahead: Spring 2020 for Women 40+

This post is part of a series while we look at spring trends 2020.  At this time of the year I usually look at what the trends are for the upcoming season.  So that means what’s new for 2020?  What I realize is when I was a kid, there were clothes for kids & clothes for adults.  Now everything is mushed together, and we have the power to decide what works for us.  Being in my 60’s that gives me a large amount of freedom, but I don’t want to look like women in their 30’s either.  I’m a retired art teacher and I rarely dressed up for work.  Denim was my “uniform.” Because of that, I lean towards the sporty look.  I wore many of Tommy Hilfiger’s polos when I was actively working.

Which leads me to tell you I had the opportunity to view the Tommy Hilfiger show online that occurred on Sunday 2/16.  I saw the collection that is in conjunction with Lewis and HER.  When viewing Tommy Hilfiger’s show, I found elements that were repeated by other designers.  He showed some athleisure, neon clothing accents, long shorts, unisex wear especially cargo pants.  Hilfiger also showed lots of sweats and hoodies along with a few jumpsuits.  I felt inspired by his show.  If you have been reading my blog, you know I like the clothing Hilfiger produces.  Below are some highlights from his show:

How are you feeling about his new clothing line?
